Project Overview
The 3D digitalization of this church was a pain for the workstation. The first take was a disaster: the bell tower, despite its beauty and height, is made out of red, reflective metal sheet.
Yep, it made the scan a total mess. Not to mention the amount of hours wasted, knowing afterwards that we would have to retake this one.
The initial take was in 2025, and the final one was recaptured in 2026. Yeah, waiting almost a year fixed the issue, as the workflow evolved substantially.

Churches dedicated to Saint James were traditionally built near springs, places where travelers stopped to rest. Pfarrkirche Neumarkt is no exception. The church grew around that idea of passage, and Saint James never lets you forget it. He appears four times inside: at the high altar with his pilgrim’s staff and oar, in a baroque painting that once served as the main altarpiece, on a canvas as a simple wanderer with a staff and lantern, and cast in bronze on the south portal. A church for pilgrims, built at a crossroads.
