A Scan to Game-ready workflow!

Project Overview

A unique aspect of this artwork is the incorporation of photogrammetry data obtained from a real screwdriver. Through the process of scanning the physical object, it served as a reference for creating an accurate and authentic representation in the digital space. The scanned data was then refined and optimized using Maya, Zbrush and Substance Suite, ensuring its suitability for real-time game engines and environmental art.

Optimization

The scan-to-game-ready workflow brings the best of both worlds: real-world accuracy and production-friendly efficiency. Starting from a scan provides natural proportions, believable wear and texture richness that’s hard to replicate by hand. By retopologizing, cleaning and baking the high-detail data into a game-ready mesh, you get a highly optimized asset with authentic detail at a fraction of the performance cost, perfect for modern engines, VR, and large-scale environments.
