Project Overview
The Austrian lakeside renovation was a unique interior design challenge, aiming to create a warm, modern space that complemented the stunning view of Wörthersee. I was responsible for every aspect of the 3D visualization, from crafting custom furniture to texturing surfaces that met the client’s specific design brief. The final result is a harmonious blend of style and realism.
Custom Furniture and Materials
In this project, the focus was on custom furniture design to fit the client’s vision. Using advanced 3D modeling, I created pieces that not only suited the space but also adhered to the interior design’s functional and aesthetic requirements. For the table and chairs in the dining area, I modeled detailed wood textures that captured the natural grain and reflection, adding an authentic touch to the room’s atmosphere.
Creating materials from scratch was equally important. The Austrian lakeside renovation needed realistic surfaces that matched the project’s contract brief. I used a combination of catalog materials and custom textures, carefully crafting each material to replicate its real-world counterpart. The attention to detail in material creation ensures that the final renders convey a high level of realism, which is crucial in architectural visualization.
Overcoming Challenges
One of the challenges in this project was replicating materials from the catalog in the project brief. To meet this challenge, I used reference images and real-world samples to create custom textures, adding nuances such as slight imperfections to enhance realism. This approach ensured that the materials fit seamlessly into the design, adding to the overall authenticity.
Another challenge was finding the right lighting balance. Natural daylight needed to complement the interior fixtures without overpowering them. By experimenting with different lighting setups and using post-processing techniques, I achieved a harmonious balance that brings out the best features of the room.
Lighting to Set the Mood
To create the right balance, I experimented with different light setups. Soft shadows across the furniture and walls add depth to the space, while highlights emphasize key design elements. This interplay of light not only adds to the photorealistic quality of the renders but also gives the interior a lived-in, comfortable feel.
